Image
9 Etsy Buys to Completely Transform Your IKEA Furniture By Brigitt Earley It's no secret we love IKEA. Maybe not quite as much as this clever bride , but we're well-versed in IKEA hacks . A little spray paint, yarn, contact paper, or new knobs can turn a standard piece of decor into an eye-catching statement that looks way more expensive than it is. Kalanchoe Is the Most Popular Succulent You’ve Never Heard Of

Image
Kalanchoe Is the Most Popular Succulent You’ve Never Heard Of By Dabney Frake There's no denying that leafy green foliage plants add a calming and homey touch to your decor. Sometimes, though, we want to mix it up with a splash of cheery flowers. Unfortunately, coaxing plants to bloom indoors, where the light is dimmer and the air drier, often requires a more advanced level of green thumbery than many of us possess. The Organizing Accessories Expert Travelers Always Have in Their Suitcase

Image
The Organizing Accessories Expert Travelers Always Have in Their Suitcase By Marlen Komar If you think packing is stressful, it's probably because you don't have the tools to make it easy. Take it from me, a converted messy person. I was a slob to the nth degree; where chaos reigned in any room I stepped in. But I quickly learned the only reason that most of my messes happened was because I refused to invest in actual organizing tools, which are literally designed to keep your life tidy. When every item has a home, it's hard to be messy. And the same holds true for your suitcase. This Phoenix Rental Reignited a Passion for Interior Design — House Call

Image
This Phoenix Rental Reignited a Passion for Interior Design — House Call By Apartment Therapy Submissions Name: Ashley Pennington Location: Roosevelt Historic Neighborhood — Phoenix, Arizona Size: 1,100 square feet Years lived in: 1 year, renting I moved into this rental to reignite my passion for interior design. This duplex is in the Historic Roosevelt District of Downtown Phoenix. I was so excited to come in and show myself what I was capable of designing. The home was built in the 1920s, has original floors, windows, cabinets and bathroom fixtures. There's a sunroom in the back of the home and the most beautiful porch and landscaping! I immediately fell in love. I asked the landlord, "Where do I sign?" at the showing! I signed my lease, and started working for a well-known interior merchandising company all in the same month. It was as if the stars were all aligned. Every single room in this home was designed with love. READ MORE » June 29, 2018 at 06:

Here are some simple tips to not get fooled by shady ICOs

Image
Here are some simple tips to not get fooled by shady ICOs By Vladimir Smerkis Today, you can invest in 149 different ICOs. In comparison, there were two per week in May 2017, and ten per day in August 2017. The promise ICOs hold is that the token’s price will grow in time, enabling investors to make a profit. Everybody wins: Investors, because they can make money out of thin air (we hope you sense the underlying danger already). The company, because they have a capital to develop the project and make some money. The clients, because the rewards they get for the product outweigh the money they invest. It’s a no-lose scenario. On paper, anyway. The truth… This story continues at The Next Web June 30, 2018 at 10:30PM via The Next Web https://ift.tt/2KkS6Bk

This Is The Wage You Need to Live Alone Anywhere in the U.S.

Image
This Is The Wage You Need to Live Alone Anywhere in the U.S. By Leeza Dennis If you live in a major city and don't make six-figures, you probably live with one or more roommates. And, of course, you probably wish every day that you could move to the middle of nowhere—where rents are cheap—and live alone. Well, surprise! Those dreams will probably never come true, because apartments throughout the country just aren't as affordable as you think they are. According to a new report by the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC), one would have to earn an hourly wage of $22.10 to afford a two-bedroom rental (at the national fair market price of $1,149) and $17.90 an hour to afford a one-bedroom rental at $931 (if we're adhering to the budget advice of keeping your rent 30% of your take-home pay or less). Asteroid mining could be the next big thing in space – but we’re not ready

Image
Asteroid mining could be the next big thing in space – but we’re not ready By Vishwam Sankaran On 30 June 1908, Earth had one the most significant encounters with an asteroid in recent history. The space rock which measured about 130 ft wide, exploded in the atmosphere above the Podkamanneya Tunguska River in Siberia, decimating nearly 800 square miles (2, 072 kilometres) of forest area. Luckily, it landed far away from human habitations. Had the asteroid flown by 6.5 hours later, it would have struck Berlin and changed the course of human history. On this day every year, in remembrance of the Tunguska Event, we observe what’s called World Asteroid Day. While today, we could reflect on… This story continues at The Next Web June 30, 2018 at 09:21PM via The Next Web https://ift.tt/2tT33z1

4 Ways to Get Rid of Your High-Maintenance Grass Lawn

Image
4 Ways to Get Rid of Your High-Maintenance Grass Lawn By AnnaMaria Stephens I grew up in inland L.A., where every house had a perfectly manicured lawn. Back then we didn't think of water as a precious resource. Now I live in drizzly Seattle, but my lawn is choked by dandelions and moss. Grass has become more of an accent than a dominant feature in recent years, a landscaping trend that shows no signs of reversing. I can't wait to cut back on mine. But how?
